OUT OF ALL PEOPLE TO THANK–YOU THANK THE MIGOS AT THE GOLDEN GLOBE? COME ON DONALD…
“Raindrop, drop top// Smokin’ on cookie in the hotbox // Fuckin’ on your bitch she a thot, thot, thot// Cookin’ up dope in the crockpot”—Catchy right? Catchy enough to thank the Migos for after winning for first Golden Globe Award? Naww–don’t think so.
Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino was awarded his first Golden Globe Award for Best Television series – Musical or Comedy for his comedy/drama series Atlanta. He also won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a television series.
During his acceptance speech, he randomly decided to thank Migos for blessing the world with their newest single Bad and Bougie featuring Lil Uzi Vert off their album Culture.
“I’d like to thank the Migos — not for being on the show, but for making ‘Bad and Boujee.’ Like, that’s the best song … ever,” Glover said.
Now I absolutely am obsessed with Young Gambino, but it’s moments like this, where I’m like “WTF?!” Bad and Boujee is a decent song; not Golden Globe acknowledgment worthy. All he needed to do was get up there and say, “I’d like to thank my momma, my daddy, my baby momma, my daughter, God, Jesus Baby Jesus and the angels. Thanks! Have a good night people!”He’s going turn himself into a Kanye’; where you are just praying, crossing your fingers and toes, that he doesn’t just screw things up.
We just have to do the most.
